Greyhound Inn, Hampton Street, Tetbury

This project secured planning permission from Cotswold District Council for the conversion of the Greyhound Inn public house into three dwellings.

A comprehensive marketing exercise and viability assessment demonstrated that the public house was no longer commercially viable, with limited demand for its continued operation. The availability of alternative community facilities nearby ensured that local residents would continue to have opportunities to meet and socialise, allowing the site to be brought back into productive use.

Located within the Tetbury Conservation Area and the Cotswold National Landscape, the scheme adopted a context-first approach. Design features were informed by the local setting and heritage designations, using materials that reflected the vernacular character of the town and ensuring the heritage value and setting were preserved.

Engagement with local residents played a key role in shaping the proposals. The redevelopment vision aligned with community aspirations to see the building repurposed for a new use, meeting local housing demand while respecting its historic significance.
