House of Fraser, Chichester

We’re pleased to have submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of the former House of Fraser site in the heart of Chichester.

This is a heritage-led proposal that will bring a prominent, long-vacant brownfield site back into active use. The scheme focuses on restoring and securing the future of a number of Grade II Listed Buildings, while removing unsympathetic additions and enhancing the character of the conservation area.

Alongside this, the proposals will deliver around 87 new homes in a highly sustainable city centre location, helping to support local services and activity. New commercial units along West Street will reintroduce active frontage and contribute to the ongoing recovery and vitality of the high street.

The scheme also delivers a wide range of public benefits. These include significant biodiversity net gain, strong carbon performance, new jobs and investment, and improvements to the public realm through a new courtyard and enhanced townscape views.

Overall, the proposals represent an opportunity to regenerate a key site within the city, balancing heritage, design and sustainability to create a vibrant and lasting addition to Chichester’s historic core.
